Her setting:

The Capital city of Ironhart; known simply as Forge, was named for the bulk of the Kingdom's innovations, and inventions being created there. It is a tactical strong point, in and of itself. Surrounded by towering walls, with an expansive mountain range to the East, and the ocean to the West. In times of war it is known to be nigh impenetrable.
The city is positioned around the Castle itself; (pictured above) a towering fortress placed atop not only Forge's Central Hub for all the trains, but also connected to the city's Cathedral, and the looming spire known as The Citadel; the main base for both the military, and The Ironhart Heroes Academy.
The Castle is the largest structure not only within Forge, but the entire Kingdom, and is a modern marvel of the technology Ironhart is known for. It is separated into four levels. The lowest being divided between the train station and the Laboratories; where the Kingdom's official inventors toil day and night. The second is divided between the airship docks, and the Cathedral. The third is The Palace, home to the King, and the only level of the Castle rarely seen by the public. The final level, being the Citadel, is comprised of the castle's tallest spire.

The inside of the palace is a beautifully decorated recreation of the original palace, flawlessly combining the original medieval styled castle, with a mix of modern day design and technology.

Surrounding the Castle is the marketplace, an expansive collection of stores, huts, and stalls, with the occasional factory. Here you can find anything from basic needs to the newest technological wonders, or absolute junk. It's always lively with chatter, the latest rumors, live music, performances, and oftentimes inventors showing of their latest miracles, or absolute failures. This is also the location of the Town Square, which encircles a large fountain, whose central piece acts as a sundial.
Beyond this is the housing district, where people live, sleep, and otherwise go about their daily lives.

And finally, on the outskirts of town, we have the Industrial district, bordering the Eastern wall. Here are located most of the Factories, and the Bio Labs; a top secret, highly advanced laboratory. Nobody really knows what goes on here, but some believe them to be mad experiments, or that they're haunted, while others think they're trying to recreate the secret to magick. On the Western borders lie the docks, where most of our trade happens, with allied Kingdoms such as Silverwing and Midori.
It's said, "If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere."

To 'cover' the pain over the loss of her mother, Amelia assimilated herself into her father's practice, and began to soak up knowledge like a sponge. She read books on Aerodynamic Theory and Steam Engine construction during her childhood - but took particular interest in the science of robotics and the books written by the "Father of Robotics," Aiden Rudolph. As a result, Amelia constructed her robot companion, Bit, when she was a mere eight years old.
From there it seemed Amelia's genius knew no bounds. When she grew into a teenager, she could assist her father's Engineer work repairing tanks and military-grade vehicles. She constructed more robots from robotic pets to a specialized training-bot used by the soldiers on-base. To do this, she became particularly gifted in "rune etching" - a practice using rune carvings as a sort of 'code' to give the power of Moonstones (a frequent substitute for magic in her mana-desolate world) the ability to perform certain functions.
At age 17, she left the hum-drum of Engineering for the military and went instead into freelance R&D. Rather than work on the same-old tech the military had, her job became researching and developing new technologies for use by soldiers and residents alike. She perfected the Rune Gyro, which allowed soldiers to use powers resembling magic on the field. Her other inventions include the early processes of utilizing wind energy, and the refrigerator. Her passion remained in robotics however.
Now she is eighteen. Her life of study and genius has lead her to be somewhat socially awkward. She prefers the company of robots over the company of people, believing strongly that machines are in fact better than humans and their fickle nature. (She was bullied a lot in school for skipping grades!) She's not without her friends, though, and a dream left to her by her mother: to get her own airship, her own crew, and to explore.
